FAQs
Q: Is PrideLax the same as the DHS Sports Boosters Club?
A: No. Sports Boosters raises funds to support all school sports while all money raised by PrideLax goes directly to support those playing men’s lacrosse. Sports Boosters pays for items such as the football stadium PA system, lawnmower, senior banners, and awards. That said, we ask that all lacrosse families join the Sports Boosters to contribute to the overall strength of Dulaney’s athletic programs and culture. Some of the money you give to Sports Boosters comes back to our team, and strong LAX participation in Sports Boosters shows that we are not just in it for our own student athletes! Q: What is PrideLax money used for?
A: PrideLax pays to offset student athlete costs not covered by the team including participation in out of season tournaments and corresponding equipment, transportation. When possible, we subsidize player equipment and training costs to make it affordable for players and families. We also support middle school programs like Play Like a Lion Day each Spring where area middle schools can practice their skills with the Men’s Lacrosse team. PrideLax helps cover the cost of playoff game travel and the end of year banquet for players and coaches, etc. We support coaches that offer programming and instruction to our players outside the Spring season. We also maintain a hardship fund and also use PrideLax money to supplement some player costs to ensure everyone that wants to play can play.
